The 2026 New Jersey recognition honors the work of the wider team as its members continue as ambassadors for service and goodwill across the Garden State. Select any certificate to enlarge it.

His charitable record includes founding the Towcester Community Fridge, supporting tens of thousands of meals for people in need, founding CopOut UK for police and emergency-services personnel, and working with more than 50 charitable organizations. He also serves as a counter-recidivism leader connected with Thames Valley policing, focused on rehabilitation, resettlement and helping people leaving custody desist from reoffending.

His public and charitable work has received recognition across a long span of service, including honors and commendations associated with senior civic and national leaders. He is also recognized as a recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal and as an American whose service has been acknowledged on both sides of the Atlantic.

Calling to service: Scott describes his public service as a calling from GOD—a duty to serve people, strengthen communities and honor the United States of America through charity, courage and practical service.

Oath of Service · State of Delaware · 2002“I will protect life and property, preserve public safety, render aid to those in danger or distress, and serve every person without fear, favor, prejudice, or personal interest.” Read the oath

I, Scott Lawrence Pileckas, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Delaware;

that I will faithfully, honestly, impartially, and courageously discharge the duties entrusted to me as a firefighter and public safety officer, according to the best of my ability and understanding;

that I will protect life and property, preserve public safety, render aid to those in danger or distress, and serve every person without fear, favor, prejudice, or personal interest;

that I will obey lawful orders, uphold the laws of the State of Delaware, honor the rules and traditions of the fire and public safety services, and conduct myself in a manner worthy of the trust placed in me;

that I will stand faithfully beside my fellow firefighters and public safety officers, safeguard those entrusted to our care, and never knowingly bring dishonor upon my company, my community, the State of Delaware, or the public safety profession;

and that I will answer the call to serve with courage, compassion, integrity, discipline, and honor, placing the safety and welfare of others before personal convenience or gain.

I take this obligation freely and solemnly, and pledge to faithfully discharge the duties of a firefighter and public safety officer to the best of my ability.

So help me God.

Urgent call to action

Stand with the family of PC Andrew Harper

PC Andrew Harper, a Thames Valley Police officer, was killed in the line of duty in 2019. The prospect of earlier release for Jessie Cole and Albert Bowers, who were convicted of manslaughter in connection with his death, has caused profound concern among his family, police colleagues and members of the public.

My view: I believe rehabilitation matters, but so do proportionate sentences, public confidence in justice and respect for those who lose their lives serving others. As a former U.S. Public Safety Officer and someone whose counter-recidivism work is rooted in the Thames Valley, I am asking people to add their voice peacefully and lawfully. My post-custody rehabilitation program, however, will not entertain admission of sex offenders, child abusers, and cop-killers - not ever - nor will we admit anyone we deem irredeemable on this Earth.

Ambassadorial Priorities

AMERICAN CIVICS • CULTURE • DIPLOMACY • GOODWILL
My standard is simple: represent the United States, New Jersey, our people and our shared history with humility, friendship, practical service and goodwill.
Safer, friendlier, approachable neighborhoods: when a neighbor is sick or recovering from surgery, bringing a meal should feel ordinary—every day they need it.
Forty years next door should never mean forty years as strangers. Strong neighborhoods are built by people who know one another, check in and show up.
I learned neighborhood life growing up in low-income communities in Southern California and northern Arizona, without a house of our own: dignity came from people looking out for one another.
Charity should feel local, human and unawkward—neighbors helping neighbors early, before hardship becomes a crisis, and building communities that feel safer and more connected.
